Arte Montreal was a Success!

Last night I presented a short scene from 8 Ways my Mother was Conceived at an event called Arte Montreal sponsored by the Association of Italian Canadian Writers and organized by Agata De Santis. It was a wonderful evening and the response to the scene was delightful. When I was waiting for my turn to go up and present, I looked around the room and I saw: an older crowd, distinguished poets reading on stage, and an overall serious atmosphere. I turned to my boyfriend and said, "I'm not sure if this is my ideal audience." I was worried I would  make a fool of myself in front of the generation of people my play is tacitly mocking. I was very very wrong. The audience was laughing and it was truly amazing to see an older audience so enthusiastic about my play. All the postcards I brought to promote the show were taken and many people came up to me afterwards to inquire about the show.

Thanks so much Arte Montreal!

8 Ways wins the Launchpad Grant for Emerging Artists from U of T Arts Council

I am humbled to announce that my little play has received a prestigious honour from the Univeristy of Toronto Arts Council. I am immensely grateful for the endorsement my application received from the Graduate Centre for Study of Drama (Dr. Stephen Johnson, Dr, Bruce Barton, Dr. Paula Sperdakos) which secured its position among the finalists.

The award is in the amount of $3,000 for the improvement of future productions of the show.

I have no words for the overwhelming support I've received so far. Incredible.
